What to Expect on Surgery Day
A high level of care starts before your pet is even scheduled for surgery, with a member of our team reviewing all options with you. When you feel confident moving forward, we will schedule pre-anesthetic bloodwork and date for the procedure. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is performed to ensure your pet is healthy enough for surgery, and it can be done the morning of if needed.
While pets are under our care for any surgical procedure, our veterinary team will provide:
- A dedicated team member to monitor vital signs (oxygen levels, carbon dioxide, ECG, blood pressure, and temperature), diet, intake, and eliminations.
- If indicated, post-surgical therapeutic laser therapy may be used to reduce pain and inflammation, and help your pet heal faster. Not all patients are candidates for this treatment.
- Soft bedding, gentle handling, and heartfelt attention to your furry family member's physical comfort and emotional well-being.
- Regular updates throughout the day.

Each patient recovers in a calm, temperature-controlled Casco WELLKennel designed to optimize healing and reduce stress. Endorsed as a Fear Free Preferred Product, these kennels offer sound dampening, custom light control settings, heated surface, ventilation, and oxygen supplimentation.
We will send your pet home with you the same day whenever possible. We’ll review home care instructions in detail so you know what to expect—whether your pet needs rest, medication, or a recheck visit.
