What to Expect

We understand that unexpected emergencies can be overwhelming. At Paws Veterinary Clinic, the goal is to help families feel supported, informed, and cared for—whether it be a routine appointment, or an urgent visit.

Before You Arrive

We strongly recommend calling ahead so the team can prepare for your pet’s arrival, and provide guidance over the phone. If you have time, it is helpful if you are able to bring any relevant medical history, medications, or the packaging of any potentially-ingested substances.

When You Arrive

Let the team know if you need help getting your pet inside—they’ll be ready to assist. A triage exam, including any necessary diagnostics, will be performed promptly to assess your pet’s condition. Stabilizing treatments, such as fluids, oxygen, or medication, may be started immediately. We have oxygen cages on site which gives us the ability to support patients experiencing difficulty breathing.

After Treatment

Before heading home, you’ll receive personalized discharge instructions and any necessary medications. We will also schedule follow-up care as needed.
